TROTTIER, Gerald Artist Peacefully into the hands of the Lord, on July 1, 2004, Gerald Mathew Trottier, age 78, of Ottawa and recently of Ile-du-Grand Calumet. Beloved husband of Irma Tremblay. Father of Denise (Gordon Buchan), Francois (Nancy Anderson) and Marc (Wendy Vance). Grandfather of Paul and Anne Buchan; Emma and Adam; Kristin and Emily Mortensen; Genevieve and Ellen. Dear brother of Audrey (late Lawrence Watters) and Helen (Randall Ellis). Predeceased by his brothers Frank (Liane), Eddie (late Cecile) and Lorne (Valerie). Gerald was a graduate and life-member of the Arts Students League, New York. He represented Canada at canadian and international exhibitions including Biennales of Canadian Art in Brazil, London, England and Mexico. Gerald also exhibited at both public and private institutions throughout Canada. Gerald's works are in the National Gallery of Canada, the University of Western Ontario, Carleton University Art Gallery, Ottawa Art Gallery, City of Ottawa and other public and private collections. He was a founding member of the Ottawa Municipal Arts Centre, the Fine Arts Department at University of Western Ontario, and the 20/20 Gallery, London. Gerald was a member of Canadian Society of Graphic Art, Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour, designer of postage stamps, Canadian Art magazine covers, and served as Designer Director, at the CBC in Ottawa and Vancouver. Examples of his liturgical appointments can be seen at St. Basil, Blessed Sacrament, St. Maurice, the Annunciation of Our Lord, St. Monica, St. Elizabeth and St. Ignatius churches. Gerald's work and faith guided him throughout his life. Friends may pay respects at the Kelly Funeral Home, 2313 Carling Ave. (west of Carlingwood) Sunday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., Monday after 12:30 p.m. Funeral Monday to St. Basil's Church for Mass of Christian Funeral at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society or the Perley Rideau Veterans Health Centre are appreciated. www.kellyfh.ca.
