BAILEY, Alice Phyllis (nee Binns) - The family announces with great sorrow the passing of Phyllis at Sumac Lodge at Sarnia, Ontario on December 10, 2008. Born, July 17, 1919 in Lancaster, England. She was a “war bride“ from World War II. She married Philip Bailey, a Canadian soldier from Fredericton, New Brunswick in 1946 who predeceased her April 2008. Dear mother of David (Sue) of Sarnia, grandmother of John of Belleville, Ontario. Survived by sister-in-law Madelyn Phillips and nephew Peter of Fredericton and nieces Diane Conway of Ottawa, Ontario and several nieces and nephews in England. She was active as a 4-H Leader in North Bay, Ontario and enjoyed traveling with her husband who was in the Canadian Armed Forces to several bases in Canada and Europe. She had an engaging personality and was outgoing in her life. Cremation has taken place and interment will take place at Beechwood National Cemetery in Ottawa, Ontario next to her beloved husband of 62 years. A memorial service will be held at Trinity Anglican Church, 1195 Murphy Road, Sarnia, Ontario on Tuesday, December 23rd at 11:00 am. A donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the D.J.
