Mrs. Gail Marie Look July 1, 1938 - November 6, 2008 - Gail Marie Look of Edmonton passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday November 6, 2008 at the age of 70 years. Gail is survived by her adoring husband Edward (Ed) of 49 years and three daughters, Kathy (Darryl) Howery of Edmonton, Sandra Olson of Duncan, BC, and Karen (Steve) Diedrich of Chagrin Falls, Ohio; seven grandchildren Megan, Alicia, Stephanie, Taylor, Spencer, Nate, and Jillian; two brothers Glenn (Edith) Sitler and Harold Sitler, numerous cousins, nephews, nieces and dear friends who were a wonderful support to her during her illness. Gail was predeceased by her parents Alice and Elmer Sitler and her son-in-law Timothy Olson. Born in Tofield, Alberta on Canada Day, July 1,1938, she grew up on a farm which was a central gathering place for many extended family celebrations. After attending Camrose Lutheran College, Gail moved to Edmonton in the late 50s and worked at Jenner Motors where she met and fell in love with Ed. In 1972, the family moved to Swift Current, Saskatchewan to open a GM car dealership. Ed and Gail returned to Edmonton in 1985, but also spent much of their time enjoying the mountains of Whitefish, Montana and golfing in Palm Springs, California. Gail was a passionate and accomplished golfer. She also spent many enjoyable hours skiing and playing bridge. Gail loved doing things with and for her family and her grandchildren. She reveled in the beauty of nature. A favorite morning ritual was drinking her coffee, listening to birds sing and watching the sunrise. Her elegance and gentle loving nature will be remembered by all who knew her. She will be greatly missed. A special thanks to the wonderful staff at the Royal Alexandra Hospital for their care and compassion to Gail over the past two months while she courageously battled a rare autoimmune disorder. We will be forever grateful! A Celebration of Gail's Life will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2008 at 5:00 p.m. at Evergreen Funeral Chapel, 16204 Fort Road, Edmonton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Royal Alexandra Foundation, 10240 Kingsway Avenue, Edmonton, AB T5H 9Z9.
