Mr. William (Bill) Courtney Lucci November 21, 1929 - November 9, 2008 - It is with much heartache that we announce the sudden passing of William (Bill) Courtney Lucci age 78 of Port Elgin, N.B/Amherst, N.S., due to a motor vehicle accident on Sunday, November 9, 2008 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital, Sackville, N.B. Born in Port Elgin, N.B., he was a son of the late Frank and Edith (Goodwin) Lucci. Bill was employed with the Air force base in Goosebay LAB, NFLD and later moved back home where he operated Lucci Shell in Amherst with his wife, Claudine for many years. He enjoyed playing his guitar with his band " Western Five" as well as playing cards, cards tricks, checkers and hunting with his many friends and family. Bill loved life and will be remembered for his pranks, story telling and sharing many jokes. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his daughters, Kathryn (Pierre Boily) Lucci of Jonquiere,PQ and Joan Chiasson of Goosebay LAB, NFLD; grandchildren, Allison (Scott) Billy (Patsy), Michelle, Jamie, Cathy Lucci, Wendell and Wendy-Lynn Ripley; 16 great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. Bill was predeceased by his first wife Claudine (nee Mullins), second wife, Audrey (nee Patton), infant grandson, Jeremy Jason Ripley; sons, Billy and Jack; as well as his sister, Helen Scopie; and brothers, Harry, Trueman, Joe, Percy, Sylvester and Lawrence. Resting at Campbell's Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst (667-9906) with visiting on Friday, November 14, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday at 1 p.m. from Campbell's Chapel with Rev. Raymond Fancy officiating. Interment will take place in the Baie Verte Cemetery. As an expression of Sympathy, contributions can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Diabetic Association.
