Ms. Helen Elizabeth Robb December 3, 1919 - November 12, 2008 - ROBB, Helen Elizabeth 88, Halifax, passed away November 12, 2008, in Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Amherst on December 3, 1919, she was the daughter of Wallace Robb and Mary Connell. Helen was a nurse for 35 years (10 years across Canada and 25 year as Head Nurse at the VG Hospital). She retired in February of 1980. She was an active member of St. Andrew's United Church in Halifax, Heritage Trust of Nova Scotia and the Canadian Club of Halifax. She was always active in Elderobics, and played bridge in numerous clubs. She is survived by sisters-in-law, Helena Robb and Lois Robb; nieces and nephews, Eric (Pat), Toronto; Harold (Florence), Halifax; Gordon, Halifax; Carolyn (Sandy) Patterson, Truro and Shirley, Halifax; great-nieces and nephews, Aaron (Joanne), Quelph; Christine Patterson, Sydney; Jane Robb, Halifax; Scott Patterson (Cheryl), Halifax; Sara Anne Robb, Halifax; Jonathan Horner, Halifax: great great-niece, Sophia Robb, Quelph. She was predeceased by brothers, G. Donald Robb in 1994 and W. Carman Robb in 1961. Funeral service will be held Monday, November 17 at 11 a.m. in Atlantic Funeral Home, Bayers Road, Rev. Russell Daye officiating. Burial in Oakridge Memory Gardens, Lower Sackville. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Canadian Diabetes Association, Canadian Cancer Society or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia. Helen's passions were traveling and family. She traveled all over the world and never missed a family gathering. She'll be remembered for her kindness and sense of humour.
