Mr. Edwin Gordon Scott November 5, 1928 - November 15, 2008 - Gordon Scott passed away peacefully at the Victoria Hospital on Saturday, November 15, 2008 at the age of 80 years. He was born at the Old School House, Brechin, Scotland on November 5, 1928. Scotty came to Canada in 1958, settling in Prince Albert where he has lived ever since. Here he met the love of his life Jean in 1962 and they were married two years later on May 8, 1964. Upon his arrival in Prince Albert, Scotty worked for Mappin’s Concrete and later for Burns Foods and Northern Wood Preservers. Scotty loved his fellow man, which led to his eventual career working at the Victoria Union Hospital where he was employed for 25 years. Following his service there, Scotty worked as a Home Care Aid before beginning his retirement years. He was predeceased by his loving wife Jean (nee Ferster) on March 19, 2006; his parents, Andrew and Elizabeth (nee Bruce); his brother Andrew. Scotty is survived by his step-son Oscar Lubeck; his niece Barbara Hutton-Brown (Don Brown) and her sons Steven, Jon, and Carson as well as members of his wife’s extended family and long time friend Ron Sterling. Scotty will be remembered for his love of animals, flowers and laughter, and will be missed for his generous nature. Although he loved being a Canadian and living in Prince Albert, he was first and foremost a Scot. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 20 from Messiah Lutheran Church - 1796 – 15th Avenue East. Pastor Dan Haugen will officiate. Interment will take place in the Garden of Christus, Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations to the Prince Albert SPCA would be appreciated.
