Mr. Frederick William Lindsay June 11, 1920 - November 15, 2008 - Frederick William Lindsay June 11, 1920 – November 15, 2008 It is with sadness we announce the accidental passing of Fred Lindsay on Saturday, November 15, 2008. Fred was born on the 11th day of June 1920 in Saskatoon and lived all his life here, except for his years of service in World War II. He was in the Royal Canadian Artillery, 6 Field Regiment, 2nd Canadian Infantry Division and served in Canada, Italy, Holland, Belgium, and Germany. He worked at several carpentering positions and later went into window making and installing. A special thank you to the Saskatoon Police and MD Ambulance for their kindness. Fred is survived by his sister in law, Margaret Lindsay; nephew, Malcolm (Gladys) Lindsay and their two children, Scott and Treena and her children, Stephen and Damien; niece, Sandra (Woods) Smith and daughter, Corrine and daughter in law, Janice and her son Tyler; niece, Carol (Larry) Wong and their daughters, Carlene (Ryan) Walter and son, Carter, Candice (Byron) Wist and their daughters, Carissa and Caylee, Christine (Don) Smith and their sons, Christopher and Cody. Fred was predeceased by his parents, Winnifred and George; his brother, Doug; and his great nephew, Trevor Smith. The Funeral Service will be held at Park Funeral Chapel, 311 Third Avenue North, Saskatoon, SK on Thursday, November 20, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. Officiating will be Rev. Carlton Miller. Interment will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations in Fred’s memory may be made to the charity of the Donor’s Choice.
