Mrs. Hilda Ruzesky June 29, 1927 - November 22, 2008 - Hilda Ruzesky June 29, 1927 – November 22, 2008 It is with deep sorrow that the family announces the death of Hilda (nee Wruck) Ruzesky, age 81, on Saturday, November 22, 2008 at St. Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon. Hilda was born in Sutherland and grew up on her family farm in the Bergheim District near Aberdeen. In her teens, she moved into the “big city” of Saskatoon to start her working career. She met and later married in 1947, the man who was to become the love of her life, Wally Ruzesky. The couple resided with Wally’s family on the Ruzesky homestead in the Borden district until they were able to acquire their own homestead 6 miles west of Langham. Together, they spent many formative years in the farming business and raising a family. It was hard work, but Hilda always found a passion for her flower garden. After four decades of farming, Wally and Hilda retired and moved into Saskatoon in April 1988. Again, she kept up with her flower and vegetable gardening along with Wally. There was never a time, even in winter, when there were no flowers in the house. She also had a passion for reading, doing crossword puzzles, and crocheting and knitting. She took such pride in and was exceptionally joyful when her children, grandchildren, and three little great grandchildren came to visit her. Her arms were wide open at all times to her “three little darlings”, just as God’s arms have now opened to her. She will be fondly cherished and remembered by all who knew her, family, friends, neighbours and her three furry friends, Snowball, Sox and Missy. Hilda was predeceased by her parents, Gustav and Pauline Wruck; three sisters and two brothers. Hilda is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Wally; and three children, son, Gordon (Sandra) and their children, Brett and Heather; daughter, Patt Klassen and her children, Dawn and Blair; and son, Russ (Angie) and daughter, Chelsea; plus three great granddaughters, Sydney, Brooke and Emily; plus numerous nieces and nephews. Hilda was known to say in the latter years of her life, “Why am I still here, I’ve been the most sick, but yet everyone else is gone”. Now she too is gone; gone to be with her parents, brothers and sisters once more. “Our flower has wilted but will never die, to bloom in our hearts forever.” “Who at My Door is standing patiently drawing near? Entrance within demanding who is the voice I hear? Sweetly the angel is calling Open the door for me! If Thou will heed my calling” The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. from Park Funeral Chapel, 311 Third Avenue North, Saskatoon, SK with Pastor Angus Schneider officiating. Interment will take place in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Condolences to the family may be sent via www.parkfuneral.ca. Arrangements entrusted to James Werezak of PARK FUNERAL CHAPEL, 244 2103.
