PUSHCAR, John Nicholas - SGT. R.C.A.M.C., Q. M. Stores - Peacefully after a short illness on November 25, 2008, John passed away at the Kingston General Hospital. Leaving behind his dearly loved and devoted wife Dorothy. He is survived by his five children, Ronald (Heather), Peter (Jo-Ella), Jeanette Robson (Ron), Judy Vallerand (Gaetan) all of the Kingston area, and Mary Louise of Miami, Florida. Dearly loved grandfather of Kevin and Jamie McDonald, Christopher, Amanda, Kelly, Jody, Jaime-Lynn, Michael and Sindy, plus three great grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters Julia and Olga and brother Roman of Montreal and Luba (Ed) of Peterborough, ON. Also lifelong friend Bob Noble of Kingston. Predeceased by his parents Wasyl and Maria, and brother Gerald. John was born in the Ukraine and settled in Montreal in 1928. He served in the Armed Forces from February 1942 until February 1946. Shortly after his discharge, he established ACME Window Cleaners and Janitorial Services, also Venetian Blind Sales and Services. John was a member of the Rod and Gun Club, and the Frontenac Hunt Club. He enjoyed duck hunting, fox and rabbit hunting, with his favourite dog Jack and his good friend Leonard Slack. He was an avid curler and enjoyed 10 pin bowling. John was also a long standing member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 560, Kingston. Resting at the JAMES REID FUNERAL HOME (1900 John Counter Blvd.). Funeral Service in the Chapel on Monday, December 1, 2008 at 11:00 am. Friends and family will be received on Sunday, November 30, 2008 form 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Members of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 560 are respectfully invited to assemble at the funeral home for a Service of Remembrance on Sunday at 7:00 pm. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to UHKF (Cancer Centre of South Eastern Ontario at the KGH) or to the charity of your choice. 11336640
