Obituaries Bernice Mary Hyatt, 83, of 923 Sixth St. E., Fort Frances, Ont., passed away Sunday, Nov. 16, 2008 at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances. She was born July 26, 1925 in White Fox, Sask. to the late Walter and Dorothy Atkinson. Bernice spent her early years in Saskatchewan growing up. On June 4, 1950, she was united in marriage to Wilbur James Hyatt. Bernice worked as a park assistant at Quetico Provincial Park for 19 years. In 1950, Bernice and Wilbur moved to Boxalder, Ont. In the fall of 1956, they moved to Atikokan, Ont., where they lived for five years. From Atikokan, they moved south of Devlin, where they resided for a number of years. Wilbur predeceased her in 1987. The following year, Bernice moved to Fort Frances, where she has lived since. She was predeceased by one brother, Alan Atkinson in 1996. Bernice is survived by her sisters-in-law, Marie, Madeline, Irene, Georgina, Nellie, and Phem; one brother-in-law, Bruce; and numerous nieces and nephews from coast to coast. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008 at 10 a.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances. Mr. Delbert Barker will officiate, with interment in Boxalder Cemetery in Boxalder. Family and friends may visit from 9 a.m. until service time on Saturday morning at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances. The pallbearers will be Lyle Hyatt, Doug W. Hyatt, Duane Tausendfrende, Edward Barker, Joseph Barker, and Scott Barker. The honourary pallbearers will be all of her friends from Rose Manor.
