BELSHAW, Samuel Roy - Passed away on Friday, November 21st at the Brantford General Hospital in his 86th year. Roy's illness was brief and he died peacefully, surrounded by his loving family. Cherished husband of the late Marjorie Matthison. Devoted father of Linda Belshaw Beatty and her husband Arthur of Uxbridge. Beloved brother of Helen Neale (Raymond) of Brantford and the late Wick Belshaw, Norman Belshaw and Mildred Butler. Dear brother-in-law of Jean and Clarence Gaukel. Fond grandfather of Alice Beatty and Douglas Beatty and his wife Tanya and great-grandfather of Tyler and Nathan. Sorely missed by many loving nieces and nephews, his dear friend Norm Neate and the Thursday morning coffee club. Affectionately known by family and friends as “the Honorary Mayor of West Brant“, Roy was a lifelong employee of Koehring- Waterous, a dedicated amateur historian and archivist and an enthusiastic antique lover and treasure hunter. He proudly served in the Canadian armed forces from 1944 to 1946. Roy's infectious zest for life and deep devotion to the people and activities he loved will live on in the memories of all who knew him. Friends will be received at the MCCLEISTER FUNERAL HOME, 495 Park Road North, Brantford, for a memorial visitation on Thursday, December 11th from 10 to 11 a.m. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. Donations in Roy's memory to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. McCleister Funeral Home: 519-758-1553. Condolences may be expressed online at 11331347
