KENNEDY, Paul M. Suddenly at age 51, on November 15, 2008. He was an exceptional man who loved his family, the law, literature, and hockey. Born June 28, 1957, in Ottawa, Ont., Paul was raised in a family that taught the value of hard work and the virtue of compassion, respect and humility. He is survived by the heart of his world, his wife Louise (nee Belanger), and their children, Laura and Myles. They were his touchstone, his rock, the centre of his joy. Paul was predeceased by his parents, Brian and Marguerite Kennedy, and is survived by his brother, Mark and his wife, Terry, and their children Kendra-Ann, Emily, Liam, Tessa, and Ellen. Paul is survived by in-laws Guy and Gracia Belanger, Anne Belanger, and Frank Lozano, Dominique Belanger and Mike Schneider and their children Eric, Emilie, and Zoe. In his professional career, Paul was one of Canada's leading lawyers in corporate real estate and finance transactions. He graduated from the University of Ottawa Law School in 1982, moved to Toronto, and was called to the Bar in 1984. He was a partner in three firms; Smith Lyons; Davies, Ward & Beck, and Torys. In 2007, he joined Oxford Properties Group as Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Counsel. In his spare time, Paul loved nothing better than to read a good book, watch classic films, or take in a hockey game, especially one involving his beloved Montreal Canadiens. Friends may call at Chapel Ridge Funeral Home, 8911 Woodbine Ave, Markham 905-305-8508 (4 lights north of Hwy 7) on Thursday November 20 from 6-9 pm.
