ERVIN, PAUL FREDERICK - April 30, 1943 - July 21, 2004. Paul passed away unexpectedly after running a great race at Vanier Track, Comox, BC., alongside many friends. He will be deeply missed and always remembered. He was born and raised in a family of seven brothers and two sisters in Saint John, NB. Paul will be sadly missed by his wife Bonny, his son Ryan (Ina) all of British Columbia, his daughter Pepper (Andrew) of Alberta, brothers Bobby (Maureen) and Ralph (Rose) of Westfield, sister Vivian (Donville) Cormier of West Saint John, his father-in-law Buster and his many nieces and nephews and extended family. In addition to his parents, the late William and Nellie (Ferguson) Ervin, Paul was predeceased by his brothers Ronald, Royden, Rodney, Richard and Edward, and his sister Valerie. After serving in the Canadian Armed Forces for 29 years, Paul and his wife Bonny retired in the beautiful Comox Valley where they began a small landscaping business. As a result of Paul's kind, courteous and happy disposition, many of his customers became his friends. Paul and Bonny enjoyed a very active lifestyle and made the Valley a special playground for them and their friends. Paul was very active in the community. He was proud to be a Tailgate Triathelete, a Comox Valley Road Runner, a member of Swimfit and Rob Sykes' Spin Workouts. Many of Paul's most rewarding moments occurred during his ten years as a volunteer disabled ski instructor. Paul was a dedicated volunteer to various community events in the Comox Valley. Paul was lucky to be surrounded by many great friends and family who enriched his life immensely. We will miss you Paul. A memorial service remembering Paul's life will be held Monday July 26, 2004 at 7 pm in CASTLE "Fallsview" Chapel, 309 Lancaster Ave., (634-1701) with a reception immediately following the service in the Fallsview Family Reception Center. Donations in Paul's memory to the Trans Canada Trail or charity of donor's choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
