Rita Hickey SCOUDOUC, NB - Rita Hickey, 83, of Route 132 Scoudouc Road, NB, passed away at her residence on July 25, 2004 after a lengthy illness. Born in Scoudouc on March 6, 1921 she was the daughter of the late Charles Connors and the late Stella Burns. She was a retired housewife. Rita attended Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church, Pointe-DuChene. She was a founding member of the Shediac Cape 4H Club, and active supporter of the Kent County Agricultural Exposition, the Easter Beef Show and Sale and other farm related activities. Rita played an enduring role in her Community, especially in her support and encouragement of its youth. Rita is survived by her husband Vincent J. Hickey; three daughters, Harriet Oulton (David) of Jolicure, NB, Charlotte McDonald (Jim) of Moncton, Joanne Korman (Steve) of Halifax; one daughter-in-law, Martha Hickey of Shediac Bridge; three sons, Mike Hickey (Héléne) of Scoudouc, Jim (Janet) of Scoudouc, Shawn (Joanne) of Scoudouc; two sisters, Mary Leonard (late James) of Scoudouc, Bernadette McKendy (late Arthur) of Bathurst; one brother, Joseph Connors (Murielle) of Scoudouc; 12 grandchildren, Cheryl, Keith, Luke, Lise, Jimmy, Jason, Jennifer, Justin, Patsy, Paula, Patrick, Brian; four great grandchildren, Nicole, Allison, Beverly, Veronique; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one son, Patrick 1985. There will be no visitation. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 28 at Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church, PointeDu-Chene, NB. A Reception for family and friends will follow at the church hall. The Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, July 28 at 11 AM. Interment will take place in St-Joseph Roman Catholic Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Shediac Cape 4H Clubs or the charity of donor's choice.
