MUNDY, Bruce Peacefully at Barrhaven Manor on Saturday, June 26, 2004 in his 80th year. Predeceased by his loving wife Lenore Batters, formerly of Windsor. Dear father of David (Heidi), Jeffrey (Susan), Peter (Sue) and the late Susie Mundy. Dear grandfather of Lukas, Stephen, Leigh, Caitlin and Carrie. Brother-in-law of Jack and Marilyn Batters of Toronto and uncle of Scott, Vicki and Arden. Born in Toronto with continuing connections to Ward's Island and the University of Toronto (Victoria College). Bruce joined the Royal Canadian Navy and maintained a life long involvement with the Navy League of Canada and the Sea Cadet Corps Falkland. He moved to the Westboro area of Ottawa in 1951 to work for R.L. Crain Ltd. and later with Public Works Canada. Over fifty years were spent with the good friends and neighbours of Fraser Avenue. He was an active member of the Anglican Church his whole life belonging to St. Martin's-in-the-Field, Toronto and All Saint's Westboro in Ottawa. The last twenty years saw him and Lenore spending most of their summer time at their cottage on Otter Lake. They enjoyed the friendship of their neighbours and the good friends they made at St. Peter's Anglican Church in Newboyne. He will also be missed by friends at the Granite Curling Club. Bruce had a passion for life enjoying people of all ages and walks of life, fine food, sports and a love of reading and learning. His happiest times were centered around his family and especially with his beloved Lenore. He missed her greatly these last years, but now they are together again. Friends may call at the Westboro Chapel of Tubman Funeral Home, 403 Richmond Rd., Ottawa, on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at All Saints' Anglian Church, Westboro on Wednesday at 2 p.m Those wishing may make memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
