FERGUSON (nee MARJERRISON), ALICE M. May 23,1921 - March 6, 2004. Alice Ferguson, blessed with 82 years of life, passed peacefully away on the 6th of March at Foothills Hospital, Calgary, Alberta. Born at Apple Hill, Ontario to Horace and Mabel Marjerrison; she was the wife of Burns Ferguson (deceased 1991) of Avonmore, Ontario. Predeceased by her sweet daughter, Linda, who passed away in 1971, sister Dorothy, brothers Stanley and Russell. Richly blessed with wonderful memories of her life and love are her son Earle and daughter-in-law Beth of St. John's, NL; grandchildren Alison and Shannon, and daughter Karen Williamson and son-in-law Sandy of Calgary, AB; grandchildren Andrea, Lisa and Colin. Leaving to mourn are her brother George and sister-in-law Lillian of Apple Hill, Ont., sister-in-law Joan Marjerrison of Amherstburg, Ont., sister-in-law Mary Marjerrison of Cornwall, Ont. and a wide circle of other relatives and friends. Alice's primary focus in her life was family to which she gave them strength and wisdom. She was also a devoted educator for thirty-five years throughout Glengarry and Stormont counties. Her special interests were divided between church and Eastern Star. She was also very active in the sports of bowling and curling. Although she dearly missed her many friends and activities in Ontario, she endeared herself to many new friends during her last two years in Calgary. The family would like to give special thanks to the nurses and doctors who provided such compassionate care at Foothills Hospital. On Alice's request, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will follow this summer in Avonmore. The date and time will be announced at a later date. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to The Lung Association, 3 Raymond Street, Suite 200, Ottawa, ON, K1R 1A3, (613) 230-4200. “The love of a wonderful mother is something that always lives on. Filling the days with sweet memories, long after her presence is gone...You still feel the warmth of her caring, her wisdom will never depart, for the love of a wonderful mother forever lives on in your heart.” 3/9/2004- ID3554706
