DOUCET, Mary Agnes "Aunty Agnes" - 94, Halifax, died peacefully in Parkstone Nursing Home, June 2, 2004, after a very brief illness. She was surrounded by family and friends. Born in Cheticamp, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Mary Jane (Aucoin) Doucet. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Dora (Aucoin), and was a loving aunt to nephews, David and Michael Doucet; nieces, Donna (John Webb), and Fredricka (Robert MacLean), with whom she shared a very special bond. She is also survived by her great-nephews, Eric, Matthew, Kyle, Brett and Brendon Webb, and special grandniece, Carly Webb. She was predeceased by her brothers, Joseph, Henry and Charlie, and her youngest niece, Laura Doucet. She was a prominent hairdresser in Halifax who owned and operated Agnes Doucet's Beauty Salon in the South End of Halifax for over 50 years. She was an active parishioner of Canadian Martyrs Church for many years and an avid bridge player. She was never happier than when she was at her beloved cottage in Head of St. Margaret's Bay. We would like to thank the Sisters of Charity and the caregivers at Parkstone for the wonderful care they provided her throughout her stay with them. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 6, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax. Funeral mass will be held 10 a.m. Monday, June 7, in Canadian Martyrs Church.
