Irene Caissie IRISHTOWN, NB - Irene Caissie, 81, wife of the late Melas Caissie, of Cape Breton Road, Irishtown, passed away Thursday, June 10, 2004 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital following a sudden illness. Born December 6, 1922 in NotreDame, she was the daughter of the late Placide and Annie (Meunier) Cormier. Irene loved to play BINGO, and attended St. Lawrence O'Toole Roman Catholic Church, Irishtown. She will be sadly missed by her three children, Rita, and Edmond both at home, Arthur (Ernestine) of Dieppe; two sisters, Eva Drisdelle (late Fred) of Gardner, MA, Marie Doiron (late Abbée) of Moncton; a brother Edmond Cormier (Rita) of Irishtown; several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband Melas (1993), she is predeceased by a son Antoine (1974); sisters, Mélendée, and Rita; brothers, Arthur, Emile, Alfred, Hervé, and Ulysse. Remains resting at Frenette Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton (8581900). Visiting hours, Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, Saturday morning at 9:30 am until time of funeral which will be held at 10:30 am. The funeral mass will be held at a time to be determined Saturday June 12, 2004 at St. Lawrence O'Toole Roman Catholic Church, Irishtown. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. At the request of the family, memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick would be appreciated.
