Born in Woodridge, Manitoba, Emma moved to Port Arthur in the 1930’s. Shortly after, Emma moved to Beardmore where she lived for many years, and in 1950 moved back to Port Arthur with her family. Emma was employed by the Port Arthur General Hospital in the Diet Kitchen, and later by McDonald’s for twelve years, retiring in 1988; and always treasured the friendships she made at work. Emma’s family and friends were always the main focus of her life. Her outlook on life, and her beautiful smile, warmed the hearts of many people. She especially enjoyed gardening, letter writing, crafts, blueberry picking, travelling, and spending time with her special little buddy “Bobby”, her cat. Emma is survived by her daughter Joyce (Bill) Vidas of Thunder Bay; grandchildren: Lori Coghlan (Jeff Connell), Kevin (Elaine) Vidas; great-grandchildren: Christopher Coghlan (his father Dan and step-mother Ashley Coghlan), Cassandra Connell, Bradley and Matthew Vidas; brother Julius Rentz (Winnipeg MB). Also surviving are nieces, nephews, cousins, and Pat Boychuk and family (Hamilton ON). She was predeceased by her parents Henry and Emma Rentz; her husband Henry in 1975; five brothers: Herman, August, Ewald, Gus and Rudy Rentz; two sisters, Augusta Moore and Emily Singbeil. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, June 21st, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre, officiated by Rev. Matthew Diegel of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, with interment to follow in the Family Plot, Riverside Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Harbourview Funeral Centre, 499 North Cumberland Street.
