VEILLEUX, Romeo Antonio passed away peacefully June 21, 2004 with his loving wife of 25 years at his side. Born May 27, 1913 in Waterville, Maine. Survived by his wife Sheila; 4 sons, Ed (Arlene), Rob (Candy), Jon (Joan) of Connecticut and Jim of California; many grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and his last remaining sibling, "Little Bro" Larry (Evelyn) of Baton Rouge. His sister Ida Mae and brothers Emil and Lionel passed away in Romeo's early life. In recent years he lost his older brother, Leo and sisters Alice and Yvette. Special thanks to the staff at St. Paul's Palliative Care. Their thoughtfulness to Sheila and her brother Dennis will be remembered always. During his life in New England Romeo worked over three decades at Pratt and Whitney Aircraft - a career he loved. Following retirement he moved to Vancouver where he and Sheila were married. Golf was his passion until he was forced to retire his clubs due to failing vision. With his beloved Sheila always beside him he pursued his next love - hiking and trail walking. Romeo walked almost every Lower Mainland trail from Baden Powell in the north to Centennial Beach in the south. It was however, close to home amid the quiet forest trails of Stanley Park that he found inner peace and contentment. It was Romeo's wish that there be no funeral, flowers, or memorial donations of any kind in his name.
