ARSENAULT, Joseph Alyre - 72, Halifax, passed away June 28, 2004, after a lengthy battle with cancer, surrounded by his family. Born in Cape Egmont, P.E.I., he was a son of the late Theodore and Edna Arsenault. He is survived by his wife, the former Angela Dempsey; sons, Barry (Isabelle), Derrick (Karen), Dale (Ginny), Alyre (Liz); daughter, Yvonne (Ken); grandchildren, Emma, Andrew, Sarah, Michael, Justin and Jonathan, who will sadly miss him; long-time family friend, Arthur Harrigan; brothers, Fred, Maxime, Leo; sisters, Thelma, Theresa, Eileen and Anna. He was predeceased by sister, Agnes. He was an active member of Spryfield Lions Club and a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Spryfield. He was an avid golfer and was a member of Hartlen Point and Briarwood Golf Courses. He served in the Canadian Armed Forces and retired with the rank of Master Chief Warrant Officer after 26 years. Visitation will be Thursday, July 1, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in J. Albert Walker Funeral Home, 149 Herring Cove Rd., Halifax. Funeral service will be held Friday, July 2, at 10 a.m. in St. Michael's Catholic Church, Herring Cove Road, Halifax. A reception to follow at 268 Rolling Hills Dr., Waverley (Silverside Subdivision). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit, QEII Health Sciences Centre.
