HODGSON, Tom (George Thomas), It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tom Hodgson in his 91st year, Wednesday, December 8, 2004 in Port Colborne. Tom passed peacefully after a brief illness and will be missed by many people whom he touched over the years. Predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Muriel and survived by his daughters Sylvia Schouten (John) and Mary Freethy (Jay) and his son Terry Hodgson (Donna). He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Kim Morely (John), Cindy McCord (Bob), Tammy VanNatter (Dan), Karen Hodgson, Jessica Hunter (Ryan) and Amber Freethy and 8 great-grandchildren, Justin, Tabitha, Susan, Julie, Bobby, Kaitlyn, Brooke and Jacob. Tom was a proud veteran of WWII, a professor at the University of Toront o and an electrical engineer with Bell Canada before he retired. After retirement Tom worked for over 30 years as a volunteer historian at the Canal Museum in St. Catharines and the Port Colborne Museum. He continued his thirst to help others when he moved to Portal Village in Port Colborne where he made new friends with his unique sense of humour and wit. The family will receive friends at the HULSE & ENGLISH FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 75 Church Street, 905-684-6346 on Saturday, December 11, 2004 f rom 1-3 p.m. A brief service will be held in the Chapel at 3 p.m. Cremation.
