BAILEY, George (Mel), At the St. Catharines General Hospital on Saturday, December 11, 2004. Beloved husband of Agnes. Dear father of Ken (Pat) of Toronto, father-in-law of Peter Leblanc of Cornwall, step-father of Elaine (David) Houtby and Sandi Ni chols (Rick) of St. Catharines. Grandfather of Eric and Emilie Leblanc and Matt (Kim) Houtby and Michelle (Mark) King and great-grandfather of Ashley Houtby and Sierra King. He is survived by his brothers Earl (Alma) of Vineland and Russell (Ruth) of Ottawa and brother-in-law of Douglas (Edna) Rickers of Guelph and Louise Richardson of St. Catharines and many nieces and nephews. Mel was predeceased by his first wife Connie (Rickers) and daughter Janet Ruth Leblanc. He was a retired Staff Sargean t of the RCMP and a retired member of Immigration Services of Canada as well as a member of Welland Avenue United Church. Special thanks to Dr. T. Azabi, Dr. V. Bayley, nurses and staff of 4th and 3rd floor at the St. Catharines General Hospital for their care and support of Mel and Agnes. Cremation has taken place. Memorial visitation will be held at the BUTLER FUNERAL HOME, 33 Duke St. (at James) on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Service of Remembrance will take place at Welland Avenue Unit ed Church, (corner of Welland Ave. & Henry St.) on Thursday, December 16, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. As expressions of sympathy, donations to St. Catharines General Hospital Future Regional Cancer Centre or Bethlehem Housing Project would be appreciated by t he family.
