GIEGER, Anita Marianne (May 26, 1928 to December 12, 2004) - Anita made stories happen. Her passion and flair for life challenged and inspired those who knew her. Her "church" was helping those in need. A one woman "meals on wheels". She retired only three months ago after sixty years of service, beautifying generations of dear friends and customers. For years Anita belonged to the Ladies Shriners and the Lion's Club. She spent many wonderful years boating on the Trent Severn Waterway and was well known as the tambourine lady. She will be greatly missed. Predeceased by her brother Heinz, daughter Jutta and husband of nearly fifty years, Henry. Survived by grandchildren Peter Osborne and Allison Wease, Rob Osborne and partner Mark Stevens, Sonya Paul and husband Don, great grandchildren Sarah, Rudy and Riley. She will forever be cherished by "the love of her life" for the past eleven years, Don Tansley. "When I am dead my dearest sing no sad songs for me" C. Rossetti. An open house gathering with refreshments for family and friends will be held at Anita's home in celebration of her life at 1326 Barlesan Road, on Sunday December 19th from 2-4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations of non-perishable food items be brought as a donation to be given to the food bank. 12/14/2004- ID5372081 - Peterborough Examiner
