Harold Rathgeber Funeral arrangements by Regina Funeral Home RATHGEBER – Harold Henry was the youngest son born to Elizabeth and Henry Rathgeber on December 27, 1941, in Goodeve, SK. He was predeceased by them and his stepmother, Olive. Harold received his formal education from Schapert School and at the age of 17, he moved to Regina and worked for 41 years, 27 of those years with the Department of Highways and Transportation, Bridge crew, from which he retired in 1996. Harold was an active member of the Y. M.C.A. for 25 years. He enjoyed and participated in hardball, hockey, curling and football. Harold also found the time to volunteer for the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre, the Red Cross, the Canadian Mental Health and the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Among some of Harold’s pleasures was to travel to warmer climates including Hawaii – his favourite. He also enjoyed going to the beach and interacting with people. He was always a friendly, outgoing person. Harold passed away on July 21, 2004, peacefully in his sleep at Pioneer Village Nursing Home. Left to mourn Harold’s passing are his wife and best friend of 21 years, Marge; his sister Lillian (Merv) McKee of Saskatoon, Judy Pendrigh of Regina, Evelyn Eichelberg of Melville, Ken (Gail) Rathgeber of Yorkton and sister-in-law Hilda Rathgeber of Melville. Harold will be sorely missed by his numerous uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
