GOODHUE, Edward Clifford (Ned) Ned passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 14, 2004 with his two cherished daughters, Judith and Jane, and their husbands, Bill Landles and Bernie Rocchio, at his bedside. He was born on September 22, 1922 in Sherbrooke, Quebec and was a proud graduate of Bishop's University in Lennoxville, Quebec. Ned moved to Ottawa to work at the NRC. During WWII he served in the Canadian Navy. In 1947 he married Marjorie Janet Cameron (deceased 1984) and together they enjoyed a life of family, friends, church and travel. Ned retired in 1977 and became even busier! He played golf and curled and was famous for his long-distance morning swim at his Otty Lake cottage. His excellent memory served him well at the bridge table. Ned loved people and social times. He was a caring and generous friend. A deeply spiritual man, who lived his religion daily, he was an active member of First Church of Christ, Scientist. For many years he was an indispensable member of Jane and Bernie's Catering business, particularly enjoying the horse show venues where he took a great interest in the lives of the riders, young and old. He was a weekly volunteer at Churchill Alternative School where for many years his visits were anticipated by a classroom full of young friends. We, Ned's family, want to thank the staff of the 6th Floor and of the ICU at the General Hospital for their gentle and loving care. There will be no funeral service, at Ned's request.
