Ona Clare O'Flaherty (née MacKay) May 10, 1924 - December 17, 2004 Funeral arrangements by Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home O’FLAHERTY……Ona Clare, of Windsor, formerly of Centre Rawdon, Hants County, passed away on Friday, December 17th, 2004, in Dykeland Lodge, Windsor. Born on May 10, 1924, in Lawrencetown, Annapolis County, Nova Scotia, she was a daughter of the late Alexander and Annie (Freeman) MacKay. Having been raised in Sydney, Cape Breton, Ona moved to Halifax in 1954. She was a long time accountant and bookkeeper at Mahon’s Stationary, Burnside and Halifax. She was an avid lover of Miniature Poodles and owned and operated “Algina Kennels” of Halifax and later in Centre Rawdon. She was also a member of the Halifax Kennel Club. She is survived by a brother, Eric (Susan) McKay, London, Ontario; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Julia Arenburg, Brooklyn, Hants County. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, John Howard Joseph O’Flaherty. Cremation has taken place under the care of Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor. No visitations by request. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 21, in the Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. John E. Boyd officiating. Interment will be held at the Fairview Cemetery, Lawrencetown, Annapolis County. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dykeland Lodge, Windsor. Sign the Book of Condolences, at:
