MacKAY, A. Baillie Halifax/Lovat, Nova Scotia A. Baillie MacKay, 94, The Berkeley, Halifax formerly of Lovat, NS passed away December 17, 2004 in the QE II Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born in Lovat he was a son of the late C. Henry and Ina (Baillie) MacKay. Baillie was a graduate of the New Glasgow High School and Dalhousie University, he was the oldest science degree graduate from the early 1930s. He worked for Statistics Canada in Halifax, and for the last 30 years of his working career in Ottawa. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Surviving are brother-in-law Hattie Thompson, Springville, NS; niece Corinne (Scott) Johnston, Springville, NS; nephew Robert Thompson, Errington, Vancouver Island; grand nieces Nicole Johnston and grand nephew Dale Johnston both of Springville, NS; several cousins. Baillie was predeceased by sisters Margaret MacKay and Christine Thompson. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or funeral service at the request of the deceased. A graveside service will be held at a later date in the Millbrook Cemetery, Pictou Co., NS. Donations in memory of Baillie may be made to Millbrook Cemetery or the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, NS.
