MOFFETT, WILLIAM J. At the Joseph Memorial Hospital, Burlington, Ontario. On June 8, 2004, William John Moffett, 81, of Burlington, Ontario and formerly of New Maryland, NB. Born in North Devon, NB, he was a son of the late Harry and Meta Elizabeth (King) Moffett. He was affiliated with the United Church of Canada and was a retired construction electrician. William served overseas during World War II and also fought in the Korean War with the Royal Canadian Navy. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 15, Marysville, Atlantic Chiefs and Petty Officers Club in Halifax, NS, and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 2166. Survived by his son Christopher Moffett (John Schrag) or Toronto; two daughters, Janice Boyd (Peter) of Oakville Ontario and Pamela Moffett (Hashem Tabareh) of Vancouver, BC, a step-son Gerald McCurdy (Nancy) of Fairfield, California, a step-daughter, Margaret Miller (Jim) of Vista, California; ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Henry Moffett (Marie) of Toronto; three sisters, Mary Elizabeth Vavasour, of Ottawa, Mabel Mains (Ray) of Carleton Place, Ontario and Patricia McCleave (Harry) of Rexton, NB; numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents and his wife Merla R. (Phillips) Moffett. Although there will be no visitation, family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service to be held Wednesday, August 11, 2004 at 7:00 pm at Bishop's Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton.
