Jan Planting January 03, 1920 - December 18, 2004 Funeral arrangements by Bowman Funeral Home PLANTING: Jan "John", of Chatham, was called home to be with his Lord, on Saturday, December 18, 2004. Born in The Netherlands, 84 years ago, son of the late Dirk Planting and Ykje (Hoekstra). Surviving are his wife Ann (De Haan) Planting, children Hetty Sluys and husband Bill of Chatham, Dick Planting and wife Augusta of Orillia, Yvonne Hoekstra and husband Harry of Chatham, John Planting and wife Mary of Ridgetown, Irene Brinkman and husband Joseph of Chatham, Keith Planting and wife Kelly of Orillia, son-in law Peter Koning of Chatham. Twenty-nine grandchildren and thirty-nine great grandchildren, three sisters also survive. Predeceased by one daughter Annie Koning (1982), two grandsons, two great grandchildren, two brothers and one sister. John farmed in the Florence area for many years retireing in 1985. Friends will be received at the Bowman Funeral Home, 4 Victoria Avenue, Chatham, (519-352-2390), on Monday, December 20, from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, December 21, 2004, at Grace Christian Reformed Church, 255 Tweedsmuir Ave. W., with Rev. Paul Stadt officiating.
