Gladys Elaine Cochrane August 08, 1946 - December 18, 2004 It is with deepest sorrow and great sadness that we the family announce the passing of our beloved mother, amma, sister and auntie, Gladys Elaine Cochrane (nee Sinclair) of Peguis First Nation. Mom is survived by her children; Oliver Jr., Lori (Kurt), Terri and their father Oliver Cochrane Sr.; Grandchildren, Rachel and Dusty; special friend Elmer Thomas and his children Kevin (Lori), Treena (Jeff), Melinda (Charles); Elmer’s grandchildren Eden, Ashley, Paige, Lawson, Monique and Faith. Gladys is also survived by her sisters, Nancy (Jim) Trimble, Muriel O’Brien, Barbara Morriseau, Agnes (Harold) Cochrane, Sharol (Ron) Kohoko, Sharon (Edwin) McCorrister and Allana (Ben) Cochrane; brothers Clarence (Ruth) Sinclair, Dave (Mary) Sinclair, Barry (Nancy) Sinclair and Garry (Loretta) Sinclair; numerous nieces, nephews, god-children, cousins, aunts, uncles and many, many friends. “ Mom, you will always be loved by all who knew and cherished you.” Gladys was predeceased by her parents Ivy Lucy Sinclair (March 1971) and George W. Sinclair (1977); brother Marchall Keith (October 1993) and grandparents William and Esther Sinclair. Mom made her home in Winnipeg and was employed by the Southern Chiefs Organization since its inception. Gladys was a very dedicated employee and took great pride in her responsibilities there. The family would like to say a special thank-you to Auntie Sharol Kohoko for her loving and constant care during this most difficult time. Also thanks to Chief Louis Stevenson and the councillors of Peguis First Nation. Wake service will be held on Wednesday, December 22, 2004 at 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 23, 2004 at 2:00 p.m., with a viewing beginning at 1:00 p.m., at the St. Matthew’s Anglican Church, Peguis, Manitoba. Reverend Barry Bear and Reverend Wesley Barrett officiating. Interment will follow at the St. Matthew’s Anglican Cemetery.
