MCKAY, GEORGE RAYMOND On Wednesday, December 22, 2004 our "Diamond in Rough" passed away at home. Born in Hayesville, April 25, 1944. During his lifetime, George worked in the mines, drove truck, mill worker and most recently was loader operator for Carroll Enterprises Ltd. He was also involved in many non-profit organizations such as the Bloomfield Rink, Canadian Red Cross and just lending a hand to anyone in need. He was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Normandy #78. Predeceased by his mother, Mildred (Munn) McKay; father, Neilo McKay; sisters, Nina Ross, Hattie Roach, Audrey LaViolette and Glenna Munn; brothers-in-law, Danny Roach, Ray Norrad and sister-in-law, Laura Norrad. Survived by wife, Yvonne (Norrad) McKay; daughter, Margie (Rick) Lyons; son, Robin (Julie); granddaughters, Laura, Cynthia, Mallory, Rikki Dawn and Sahara; grandsons, Rueben and Ren; great grandson "Pup's Boy" Kyler and wonderful mother of Kyler, Ashley; mother and father-in-law, Margaret and Cecil Norrad; sister, Izella (Laurie) Hunter; brothers, Valentine (Hazel) McKay, Barney (Harriet) McKay and Rex (Nellie) McKay; brothers-in-law, Harry (Regina) Norrad, Weldon (Mary) Norrad, Gladwin (Susan) Norrad, Perry (Judy) Norrad and Trevor (Erin) Norrad; sisters-in-law, Winnie (Milton) Munn, Isabelle (Juddy) Munn and Annabel Norrad; many, many special nieces and nephews. George was loved by and will be missed by many, many people. Visitation take place at Miramichi Valley Funeral Home, New Bandon, NB on Thursday, December 23, 2004 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Funeral Service will take place at the Miramichi Valley Funeral Home on Friday, December 24, 2004 at 12 noon with Rev. James McLaughlin officiating. Interment will take place at Cameron Hill Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances to Extra Mural or to the charity of the donor's choice and would be appreciated by the family.
