KOHUT, William 2009-09-05 The family of William John (Bill) Kohut sadly announce his passing at home on September 1, 2009. Bill was born on January 10, 1932 to Tony & Wanda Kohut and the first 12 years were spent growing up on Hacquoil Side Road in a home built of hand hewn logs. He attended SS. #4 in Paipoonge and later Fort William Vocational. The family later lived for many years on Alberta Street. Later he became a Sheet Metal Journeyman working for different contractors in the area eventually owning his own business. Bill always enjoyed competitive sports and played with the Fort William Ukes and later with the Fort William Red Skins. Also a golf enthusiast and what started out as few friends hitting balls at a driving range, ended up as a Sunday morning event of close and endearing friendships that still carry on some 45 years later. Bill is survived by his daughter Patricia Thunder and her husband Max of Winnipeg and their children Amanda, James, Andrew, Adeline and Tiffany. Also surviving is his son Billy and Bill‘s sister Betty of Fort Frances and many immediate relatives Bill was predeceased by his parents, wife Elsie in September 2, 2002 and his eldest daughter Shelley May 7, 2007. Should friends desire donations may be sent to the children’s Wish Foundation or George Jeffery Foundation. The family wish to thank the V.O.N for their professionalism and compassion. Special thanks goes to V.O.N.‘s Judy, Roxanne, Sheila Lucia and Laurie. Thanks also to Drs. Dorianna Dueck and Ross Johnson, Regional Cancer Care, Simpler Times Cremation Centre, Dar & Joanne. At. Bill’s request there will be no funeral. LAST WORDS Death is nothing, nor life for that matter. To die, to sleep, to pass into nothingness, what does it matter? Everything is an illusion.
