LA FAMILLE PELOT a le regret de vous annoncer le décès de GÉRARD PELOT décédé du cancer, le 17 juillet 2009, à l'âge de 83 ans. Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse de 59 ans, Violet Keegan et ses enfants: Susan Hayden (Bill Hayden), Ronald (Cecilia Engler), James (Tina Beauchamp) et Lorraine (Linda Stinson); ses petits enfants: Gerry et Emily Hayden, Nikki, Anya, Ali et Sam Pelot et Ryan Stinson (Laura Stinson) ainsi que ses frères et sa soeur: Lloyd (June), Ivan (Madge), John, Peter (Janice), Robert (Suzanne), Vivian (Bill McKim) et belle-soeur Kate. Il fut prédécédé par ses parents: William John (Jack) Pelot et Éliane Gauthier, ainsi que son frère, Bernard. La famille recevra parents et amis à la Maison Funéraire Kelly, 1255 chemin Walkley (à l'est de la rue Bank), le lundi 20 juillet de 14h à 16h et de 19h à 21h. Le service religieux aura lieu le mardi à 11h, en la paroisse Saint- Thomas-d'Aquin au 1244, avenue Kilborn, Ottawa. Keegan). Proud and loving Dad of four children: two daughters Susan Hayden (Bill), and Lorraine Pelot (Linda Stinson), and two sons, Ronald Pelot (Cecilia Engler) and Jim Pelot (Tina Beauchamp). His dream of becoming a grampa was fulfilled with the arrival of beautiful and adored grandchildren, Gerry and Emily Hayden, Nikki, Anya, Ali and Sam Pelot and Ryan Stinson (Laura). The eldest of a family of eight, he is survived by his brothers Lloyd (June), Ivan (Madge), John, Peter (Janice), Robert (Suzanne), his sister Vivian (Bill McKim) and sister-in-law Kate. He was predeceased by his parents, William John (Jack) Pelot and Eliane Gauthier as well as his brother Bernard. Born in the village of Billings Bridge, he lived all his life in Ottawa valuing his roots and connections by working in and contributing to his community. Upon completing his CA, he became an employee of CBC Head Office where he worked in various positions for 34 years, retiring in 1988 as Director of Sales Policy and Planning. Over the years, he found many outlets for his musical talents and interests most notably as the choir director at Canadian Martyrs and St. Thomas d'Aquin churches. After retirement, he volunteered on many Boards of Directors dedicating himself from 1988 to 2001 primarily to serving l'Arche d'Ottawa as a member and Chair. Ten years ago, Gerry collaborated with three of his brothers to write and publish a history about their birthplace. Our very special thanks to Michelle Vesey, Director of Barrhaven Manor and all her dedicated staff for their love and caring support over the past 2 years and to Drs. Margaret Farncombe and Priscilla Bright and Max of the Ottawa Palliative Care Out reach Program. Friends may pay respects at the Kelly Funeral Home, 1255 Walkley Road (east of Bank) Monday, July 20th, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service Tuesday, July 21st to la Paroisse St-Thomas d'Aquin, 1244 Kilborn Avenue for Mass of Christian funeral at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to L'Arche d'Ottawa or the Ottawa Palliative Care Outreach Program.
