MacVICAR, Barbara Joyce Department of Foreign Affairs, Retired (nee Leslie) Peacefully in Ottawa on Thursday, December 23, 2004 in her 69th year. Beloved daughter of the late Richard and Louie Leslie of Nelson, B.C. During her life she touched many and will be sadly missed by her brother David (North Vancouver), nephews Ian (Larissa, Nathaniel and Hailey) (Ottawa) and Scott (Vancouver) and her many dear and valued friends. Her love of the outdoors was expressed in hiking and cross country skiing; her love of art history and native history was expressed in her work as a volunteer docent at the National Gallery and the Museum of Civilization; her love of people was expressed in her caring and concern for all those around her. Family and friends are deeply grateful for the care and compassion extended by the staffs of the Ottawa Hospital, General Campus and the Elisabeth Bruyere Medical Centre during her illness. Barbara's full and rich life will be celebrated at a service in Christ Church Cathedral, Ottawa at 10:30 a.m. Thursday December 30. Interment will take place in the spring in the family plot in Vernon B.C. In lieu of flowers, donations to SCO Health Service Foundation (Elisabeth Bruyere Health Centre) in Barbara's memory would be appreciated.
