She was born on Tancook Island, a daughter of Howard and Olive Levy. She was a school teacher, attending Normal College in Truro, Mount St. Vincent College and Nova Scotia College of Art. She received her Bachelor of Science from Columbia University in New York city. She traveled extensively and appreciated her trip to the Hold Land after which she related that the Bible took on new meaning for her. During her long teaching career she taught elementary classes in several rural schools in Nova Scotia, then for a time in British Columbia and several years in Halifax and Dartmouth schools. Always interested in young people, she showed great love and concern for her students, teaching them regard for one another and motivating lessons for a meaningful life, along with academic subjects. She had a generous and loving heart, always ready to reach out to those in need. For many years she and her former husband Guy Richards had "The House of Prayer" in Dartmouth where people of all walks of life were welcomed. Her memory will be treasured in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Before succumbing to Alzheimer's disease, she attended and was a faithful member of Rock Church. She is survived by sister, Bernice Black (Charlie), Middleton; sister, Edna Landry, Halifax; brother, Richard Levy (Goldie), East Chester; several nieces and nephews who will dearly miss their Aunt Sue. She was predeceased by her first husband, Guy Richards (Chrichton Park Realities); second husband, Keith Wilson (CPO Ret'd); brother, Arthur. Heartfelt thanks to the staff at St. Vincent's Guest Home for their compassionate care of Sue during her stay there.
