Asa A.Mitton MCKEES MILLS, NB - Asa A.Mitton, 92, of McKees Mills, passed away at the Moncton Hospital on Monday, August 9, 2004. Born in Lewisville, son of the late William and Maude (Fillmore) Mitton. Asa was retired from the N.B Liquor Commission, Moncton with 28 years service. Member of McKees Mills Baptist Church, and adherent of Zion United Church, McKees Mills. He was a veteran of the Second World War, served overseas in England and Continental Europe with the Canadian Army (1940-45) and was a member of Bouctouche Legion #43. Among his many hobbies, he enjoyed working around his yard and especially tending to his garden. Asa will be sadly missed by his wife of 69 years, Edna (Colbourne) Mitton; son, Robyn and daughter-in-law, Karen, McKees Mills; grandchildren, Jennifer and April, McKees Mills. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Predeceased by his brothers, William, Audber and Hebert. Sisters, Emma, Iola and Freda. Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home 1657 Mountain Rd, Moncton (858-1995) Tuesday 2 to 4, 7 to 9. Combined Moncton Legion #6 and Bouctouche Legion #43 memorial service, Tuesday, August 10, 2004 at 6:45 pm. Funeral service at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel Wednesday August 11, 2004, 1:30pm, Betty-Jean Friedman, Rev. Boyd Butt officiating. Reception following the service. Interment, Hillside Cemetery, McKees Mills. In Asa's memory donations to Friends of the Moncton Hospital or memorial of choice would be appreciated.
