EVELYN ST. CYR (nee Meilleur) 1902-2004 St. Cyr - The family of Evelyn St. Cyr regretfully announce her passing on December 28, 2004 at the Teck Pioneer Residence. She was born at St. Philippe D’Argentuiel, Quebec on November 4, 1902. Evelyn was a pioneer of Paroisse Assomption since 1929. She was a Charter Member of the Federation des Femmes Canadiennes Francaise and Dame de Ste Anne. She enjoyed fishing and was a member of the Ladies Fish & Game Association, was a long time vounteer of the Cancer Society and was employed by the Fashion Centre Ladies Wear for 27 years. She was predeceased by her husband Alcide in 1980, her parents J.A. Meilleur & Eloise (Leblanc), her son Lionel in 1923, her brothers Aurel (Alma), Dennis (Vera), and her sisters Teresa Benset (Harry) and Eloise Stewart (Leslie), her daughter-in-law Florence St. Cyr and granddaughter Patricia Carter (nee St. Cyr). She is survived by her children Fernand - Ferbie, Rene (Lucille), Cecile Piche (Bill); her grandchildren John (Dianne) St. Cyr, Paul (Karen) St. Cyr, Mike (Kim) St. Cyr, Charles St. Cyr, Louise (Brian) Rodgers, Connie (Ed) Lewis, Paulette (Patrick) Bornestig, Richard Piche; her great grandchildren Melanie (Ethan) Wittig, Alyson (Jim) Weber, Jason St. Cyr, David (Kristi) St. Cyr, Mark St. Cyr, Michael Jr. and Nicole St. Cyr, Breanne and Gregory Carter, Kim (Joe) Palazzo, Denise (Neil) Armstrong, Claire, Timothy and Kelsey Lewis, Emily and Elliot Bornestig; her great-great grandchildren Noah and Meghan Wittig, Grace and Sara Palazzo, Quinn and Mark Armstrong. Also mourning her loss are Brian and Pat Carter, Numerous nieces, nephew, and cousins. Donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Charity of your choice. The family received relatives and friends at the Monette & French Funeral Home on Thursday, December 30, 2004 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A funeral mass and celebration of Evelyn’s life will be held at Paroisse Assomption on Friday, December 31, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Simon Drapeau officiating. Evelyn will be laid to rest next to her husband Alcide in Kirkland Lake Cemetery in the spring of 2005.
