HARRIS, Maj. G.C. R.C.A., Dept. of Transport 1920-2004 Peacefully at the Queensway Carleton Hospital on Wednesday, December 29, 2004. Loving husband for 61 years of Joyce and devoted father to John and Roger and their families, Nancy and Rosalind, his daughters-in-law and grandchildren, Gillian, Margot, Crispin and Audrey. Predeceased by his brother Grant. Cal was born in Westville, N.S. and attended The Nova Scotia Normal College. After serving from 1940 to War's end with the Canadian Army throughout North Africa, Italy and Holland, Cal returned home to Nova Scotia and joined the Marine Branch of the Dept. of Transport. Together with his in-laws Parker and Gwladys Burris, Cal and family moved to Ottawa in 1954 and became members of Knox Presbyterian Church where he served many years as an elder. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod St. on Monday, January 3, 2004 from 11-1:30 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, 120 Lisgar St. (at Elgin) at 2 p.m., with a reception to follow in the Church Hall.
