She is predeceased by her parents, Austin and Sarah, and infant brother, and her aunts Sybil, Annie, and Polly who helped to raise her. Phyllis left her home in Newcastle, England at the young age of 17 to join the Royal Air Force during WWII, where she proudly served as a motor transport driver. She met her husband Don, an RCAF Navigator, in Scotland in December 1943 and the two were married on January 29th of 1944. She came to Canada with her oldest daughter in 1946 to join her husband. They lived in Saskatoon, then moved to Regina in 1949, where Phyllis was a stay-at-home wife and mother. She was a volunteer with many organizations, and served as President of the MS Society of Regina for many years. Phyllis was happiest when spending time with her family and friends, especially during summers at the family cabin on Long Lake. Her stories of her life in England were a source of fascination for her children and grandchildren alike. Phyllis had a tender heart, and was always willing to welcome others into her life. All who knew and loved her will sadly miss her. The family sincerely thanks the third floor staff of the Santa Maria Senior Citizen’s home. In honor of Phyllis’ wishes, no funeral service will be held. If friends so desire, memoriam contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, Regina Chapter, 150 Albert Street, Regina, SK, S4R 2N2. Arrangements are entrusted to Regina Funeral Home (306) 789-8850.
