Mr. Murray Lloyd Jack - December 10, 1917 - August 26, 2004 - on Thursday, August 27, 2004 at the Chatham Kent Health Alliance in his 87th year. Beloved husband of June (Parry) for over 60 years. Father of H. Dennis Jack and his wife Judith of Thamesville, Willard Wm. Jack and his wife Laura Lee of Belzoni, Mississippi, Marianne and her husband Bruce Johnstone of Chatham. Grandfather of Heather and Sean Conley, Jeffrey and Leanne Jack, Jason Jack, Stacie and Trey Koger, Gregory and Michelle Jack, Jeremy Jack, Jennifer Johnstone and Cheryl Johnstone. Great grandfather of Tamara and Owen Murray Jack. Survived by brother Warren Jack and sister in law Mildred of Chatham. Sisters Muriel Moote and her husband David of Sarasota, Florida, Mary Breaugh and her husband Bill of Naples , Florida. Also survived by brother and sister in law Don and Marie Parry and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers Howard Jack, James Jack Sr. and sister Wilda Aitken. Murray led an active life of community service. He was past president of Kent County Junior Farmers, Kent County and Ontraio Beef Improvement Associations, organizer and leader of the Dover Chatham 4-H Calf Club, Life membership in the Canadian Aberdeen Angus Association. He served on the Agricultural Research Institute of Ontario for 11 years and was past president of the Kent County Soil and Crop Improvement Association. A life member of the Canadian, Ontario and Kent County Agricultural Halls of Fame. He received the Ontario Agricultural College Centennial Medal in 1974. He was the 1986 recipient of the Chatham and District Chamber of Commerce Agriculturalist of the year Award. He served on the Kent County School Board and was a member and elder of New St. Andrews Presbyterian Church. A Memorial Service will be held at New St. Andrews Presbyterian Church (corner of Baldoon Rd. and New St. Andrews Line, Dover) at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, September 3, 2004. Memorial donations may be made to the New St. Andrews Presbyterian Memorial Fund, The Barbara Parry Pediatric Oncology Association, Ridgetown College Millenium Project or the charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to the Bowman Funeral Home, 4 Victoria Ave., Chatham (352-2390).
