YATES, Armande, D (nee Deschene) - In loving memory of Armande D. (nee Deschene) Yates, 75 years formerly of Sudbury, who passed away Saturday evening October 16 2004 at Centre d'accuiel Roger Seguin, Clarence Creek. She was born in Sturgeon Falls and married Sidney Yates in 1952. A long time Sudbury resident Armande passed away in Clarence Creek outside Ottawa. Armande was born in Sturgeon Falls and was struck with polio as an infant. As a young woman, she worked as a waitress in restaurants. She met Sid, the love of her life in Parry Sound and they married and settled in Sudbury. When living on Armstrong Street in Lo-Ellen Park she attended Glad Tidings Tabernacle and she was a member of the Country Music Travellers. She enjoyed her time working at the Lo-Ellen Confectionery on Loach's Road. As "The Rainbow" she assisted Sid with the local "Heart Of Bluegrass" radio program on CIGM radio. She loved babies and especially delighted in her grandchildren. She enjoyed making ceramics and clown dolls. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Beloved wife of Sidney "Sid" Yates predeceased 1997. Loving mother of Larry (wife Marnie) of Belleville, Bill of North Bay, Frances Paterson of Bedford, Nova Scotia, Susan MacIntyre (husband Jamie Gauthier) of Wawa, Rita (husband Ray Arseneau) of Cumberland, Arlene (husband Frank Stroud) of Guelph, June (husband Edward Fosty) of New Hamburg, and Patricia Doyle of Guelph. Cherished grandmother of 24 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Godmother to Amy Abbs and Lisa MacIntyre. Dear daughter of Joseph and Laura (Dagenais) Deschene predeceased. Dear sister of Marcella (husband Maurice Berube) and Georgette Gerard both of Sudbury, Joe Deschene (wife Gaetanne) and Claire Abbs both of Hanmer and the late John and Horace Deschene, Aurore Lachance, Mary-Anne Brais, Gaetane Hubla, Jeannette Pilon, Rolande Link, Germaine Tremblay and Noella Leblanc all predeceased. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Funeral Service in the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME, 252 Regent St. at Hazel St., Thursday October 21, 2004 at 11:30a.m.. Cremation with committal of the cremains in the family plot at St. Mary's Cemetery Sturgeon Falls Friday at 2:00 p.m..
