After graduating high school as an Ontario Scholar he attended the Michener Institute in Toronto and became certified in diagnostic radiography. After 10 years as an x-ray technician at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Daryll assumed the position of Chief Tech at Sensenbrenner Hospital in Kapuskasing. At the time of his death, Daryll was Manager of Diagnostic Imaging and Laboratory Services at Sensenbrenner. Daryll loved the outdoor activities such as cross-country skiing, biking and hiking the shores of Lake Superior. In Kap, he and buddy, Dean, spent many hours finding the "best" fishing spots. He found much solace reading on the dock at the Swain Cottage at Remi Lake. In the past few years, Daryll and Holly enjoyed travelling to BC and Montreal and were looking forward to doing much more of the same. Per Daryll’s wishes cremation has taken place and his ashes will be interred with his parents in Marathon at a later date. A celebration of Daryll’s life will be held on Friday, October 22, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Kapuskasing with Rev. Susan Best officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial donations to Sensenbrenner Hospital, Kapuskasing or Wilson Memorial General Hospital in Marathon ON.
