Leo Roger Gosselin , of Calstock - Date of Death: December 7th, 2004 - The memorial service for former longtime Calstock resident Léo Roger Gosselin, 79, of Hearst is to be held Saturday, Dec. 18th, 2004. He died Dec. 7 at Notre-Dame Hospital from an illness. Born Aug. 9, 1925 in Disraeli, Quebec, he came to Calstock in the mid-1940s where he worked as a mechanic for Gosselin Lumber Co. until its closing in 1989. He then moved to Hearst. He enjoyed reading, carpentry, fishing and camping. Predeceased by his wife Rolande (née Parent) Gosselin in 1992, brothers-in-law Léonard St-Laurent and Claude Balthazard, both of Laval, Que., and sister-in-law Germaine Hughes of Geraldton, he leaves a daughter Louise (Gilles) Boilard of Hearst. Also surviving are his sisters Mabel Gosselin of Disraeli, Que., Laurette St-Laurent and Gisèle Balthazard, both of Laval, a brother Raoul Gosselin of Geraldton, granddaughter Heidi Boilard and grandson Jamie (fiancée Mélanie) Boilard, all of Hearst. Cremation was done at Hillcrest Crematorium. Rev. Rémi Lessard is to direct the 10:30 a.m. service at Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption Cathedral. Interment will be at Monsignor Grenier Cemetery. Commemorative donations may be made to the Hearst Foyer des Pionniers Nursing Home.
