S. Rosemary "Cookie" Davanney January 19, 1941 - September 05, 2004 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Halifax) DEVANNEY, S. Rosemary "Cookie" - 63, passed away after a brief illness, September 5, 2004, in the New Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born January 19, 1941, she was a daughter of the late Warren and Claire (O'Hara) Hagar. Cookie attended St. F.X. University where to this day was a proud supporter of their hockey team. She worked in the Bank of Montreal, first in Canso, then downtown Halifax and finishing within the Dalhousie University branch before dedicating her life to raising her four children as well being a foster parent in her home in Prospect. She loved spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Terrance; son, Glenn, Shad Bay; daughter, Sherry (Andrew), Dartmouth; son, Chris, Prospect Village; son, Josh, Halifax; grandchildren, Mackenzie and Keegan; brothers, Michael (Eileen) Hagar, Ottawa; John (Polly) Hagar, Antigonish; sisters, Norma Barnett, St. Catharines, Ont.; Linda (Jimmy) Smith, Canso; brother-in-law, Burris (Louanne) Halifax; aunt Beatrice; uncles, Ernie and Cliff, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax. Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Thursday, September 9, in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Prospect Village, Father Charles Pottie (Pàté), SJ officiating. Reception to follow after service.
