R. Marie Wilson, RN May 13, 1921 - September 24, 2004 Funeral arrangements by Chapel Lawn Funeral Home With the deepest sorrow, the family of R. Marie Wilson announces her passing at the Tuxedo Villa Nursing Centre. Marie was predeceased by her husband, Jack and brothers Ed, Don, and Gordon Billo. Her memory will be cherished by her long-time companion and loving partner, Mort Wilson; son John (Catherine) Wilson; daughter Jean (Terry) McGurk; grandchildren Kyle Wilson, Kathy (Kim) Kozak, David (Marla) McGurk, and Shawn (Melanie) McGurk; several great-grandchildren; brothers Karl and Gerry Billo; special “sisters” Marg Billo, Rose Billo, Anita Billo, and Maxine Wilson; as well as many nieces and nephews and extended family and friends. Marie graduated with high honours from St. Mary's Hospital School of Nursing, Kitchener, Ontario. Her career began in the operating room of St. Mary's. Marie then served as an Industrial Nurse at B.F. Goodrich Plant in Kitchener, followed by many years at Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children, Winnipeg. There she became Head Nurse and Director of In-service. Despite her busy life, Marie found time for her fine oil paintings, golf, traveling, and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her kind, understanding, considerate and friendly nature rewarded Marie with many good friends. Marie was a faithful member of St. Paul The Apostle Roman Catholic Church. The family wishes to thank the staff at Tuxedo Villa Nursing Centre and at the Grace General Hospital for their kindness and care of Marie. A celebration of Marie's life will be held Tuesday, September 28, 2004 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. In lieu of flowers, a contribution may be made to the charity of your choice. “We love you Mom/Marie/Nana. Rest in peace.”
