Bruce Fowler, 52 SPENCERVILLE -- Bruce Malcolm Fowler, 52, of Spencerville, died of cancer October 17 at St. Vincent de Paul Hospital . He was born on December 22, 1951 in Asbestos, Que. to Arthur Fowler and the former Nellie Branford. He worked for Wellington House in Prescott for several years as a maintenance worker and had previously worked as a mechanic and carpenter. Among his many interests, he loved to fish. He found peace and tranquility this past summer being on the lake. He also enjoyed watching car racing on television. He is survived by former wives Linda and Julie; children Sarah Blue and husband Mark of Domville, Tanya and fiancé John Murrell of Brockville and Tommy of Prescott; grandchildren Kiara "Kiwi" and Viktor "Hey Mister" Blue and step-grandchild Melanie Murrell. Also surviving are his brothers David of Prescott, Irwin of Stittsville, Andrew of Spencerville, Alton of Sawyerville, Que., and Robert of Sherbrooke, Que. and sisters Janet Hutton and Joyce Dougherty, all of Prescott; sisters-in-law Florence Fowler, Lorna, Betty, Barbara and Jane Willey; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, brothers Richard and Peter, and sister Bernadine. Friends called at the Grant Brown Funeral Home-Purcell Chapel, Spencerville, where on October 20 the funeral was held, officiated by Rev. Margaret Johnston-Jones. Burial was at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Maitland. The pallbearers were Mark Blue, Sarah Blue, Tanya Fowler, John Murrell, Tommy Fowler and Jamie Fowler.
