Jeannette Charland Jeannette Marie Charland, 76, died December 20 at Brockville General Hospital. She had been ill for seven months and died of congestive heart failure. She was born October 10, 1928 in Montreal, Que., to Ernest and Delia Marcil. The family moved to Brockville before Jeannette began school and she lived here ever since. She attended St. Francis Xavier School and was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church. In 1949 she married Francis William Charland in Brockville. She was a housewife from then on. All her interests centred on family activities. Mrs. Charland is survived by her husband Francis and her son Ronald, both at home, her sister Marion Desormeaux and brother-in-law Lloyd Plummer, all of Brockville. She had no grandchildren but is survived by nephews Richard Gendron of Addison, Jerry Gendron of Beaconsfield, Que., and Paul Desormeaux of Brockville, and nieces Tina Kelly of Tincap, Pauline Lake of Brampton, Theresa Casibo of Athens, Lea Roblee of Brockville and Chantal Richards of Brockville. She was predeceased by her parents, sisters Irene Plummer (August 15, 2004), Simone Lamarche, Yvonne Lavoie and Margurite Pritchard and a brother, Roger Marcil. Friends called at the Irvine Funeral Home, Brockville, on December 21. The funeral was held December 22 at St. Francis Xavier Church, with Father Brian Price officiating. Burial followed at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery. The pallbearers were Richard and Christian Gendron, Donnie and Michael Richards, Lonnie Kelly and Paul Desormeaux.
