John William Wright 1922 - 2004 The death of John W. Wright, husband of Maude, of Wright Drive Moncton occurred at the Moncton Hospital on Wednesday February 4, 2004 following a brief illness. Born in Halifax on January 11, 1922 he was the son of the late John and Mary (Preeper) Wright. He was raised in West St. Andrews, NS. A veteran of the Second World War he served overseas with the 23rd Army Tank Regiment-The Halifax Rifles C.A.C. 1940- 1945. A trucker driver he had been employed with Canada Packers, Diamond Transfer and had owned an operated Wright's Transfer all in Charlottetown after which he was employed with Refrigerated Carrier in Moncton for 15 years prior to his retirement 13 years ago. He was a member of Highfield United Baptist Church, Moncton. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed sport fishing and hunting. In addition to his wife, Maude he is survived by one daughter Linda MacLeod (Keith) of Charlottetown, PEI; grandchildren, Carolyn (Todd) of Calgary, Kathy Peters (Robbie) and great granddaughter Kaitlyn Peters all of Charlottetown; three step children, David Pidgeon (Shirley) of North Battleford, SK; Janet Rose (Marty) and step grandchildren, Breanna and Eric Rose all of Linden, NS and Philip Pidgeon (Beverly) and step grandchildren, Kelsey and Bradley Pidgeon all of Riverview; two sisters, Doris Barr of Shubanacadie, NS and Alice Woods (Ernie) of Maple Ridge B.C. and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents and brothers Harry, Ivan, Austin, Oren and sisters Winnie and Marjorie. Resting at Fair Haven Funeral Home (852-3530) 1177 Salisbury Road Moncton with visiting hours on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Funeral service will be on Saturday February 7 at 2pm in the Chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home followed by a reception in the Family Reception Room of the funeral home. Interment will be in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens. Donations in John's memory may be made to the Friends of the MonctonOncology Department.
