Mr. Leonard J. Froment 1916-2004 MIRAMICHI, NB - Mr. Leonard Joseph Froment, husband of Gwenyth Froment, of Colin Drive, Miramichi, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Wednesday, August 11, 2004, at the age of 87. Born in Lachine, P.Q., he was the son of the late Arthur L. and Agnes (Chatelain) Froment. He was a retired member of the R.C.A.F. and following retirement from the military, he was the manager of the Dairy Queen restaurant in Miramichi for 33 years. He was a member of Miramichi Lodge, # 17, F&AM; a member of Branch # 10, Royal Canadian Legion, Miramichi; a former member of the Miramichi Senior Citizens Friendship Club. He was a Veteran of the Second World War, serving overseas with the R.C.A.F. as the Officer in charge of Kitchens and Food Services. He is survived by his wife, the former Gwenyth P. Laviolette; two daughters, Mrs. Lenora Hilchey (William), of Miramichi and Mrs. Patricia Kennedy (Bert), of Germany; two sons, Les Froment and his wife (Barbara Carscadden) of Miramichi and Lloyd W. Froment and his wife (Marilyn Neville),of Winnipeg, Manitoba; seven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren. He was predeceased by one brother, Arthur L. Froment. Visiting will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., on Friday only, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held from Adams Funeral Home Chapel, on Saturday, August 14, 2004, at 2 pm, conducted by Rev. Charlene Maguire. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Miramichi. Please note, members of Branch #10, Royal Canadian Legion are asked to assemble at the funeral home on Friday afternoon, at 2:30 pm, for a Veterans Service; as well, members of Miramichi Lodge #17, F&AM are asked to assemble at the funeral home on Friday evening, at 7pm, for a Masonic Service. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Palliative Care Unit of the Miramichi Regional Hospital, the Riverside Cemetery Fund, St. Andrews United Church, or any charity of the donor's choice, would be appreciated by the family.
